In this inaugural year, and hopefully for many years to come, it’s my pleasure to offer one Dorset-based small business six months of free, one-to-one SEO mentoring.
The programme is designed for a small business ready for its next stage of growth, with the ambition and willingness to improve its online visibility, but without the budget to invest in this level of ongoing professional SEO support.
Why I set up the programme
We all know that good SEO takes expertise, time and consistent action. Small businesses with big potential often know they need help, but they can’t currently afford or justify a substantial monthly retainer for the kind of SEO consulting that would make a difference to their growth.
I’ve always been eager to share my SEO knowledge and expertise, especially when a deserving client needs a bit more time or help than they can afford. It gives me huge pleasure to formalise the habit of a working lifetime with this SEO Mentorship programme. 2027 will be its inaugural year, but I hope it can be replicated for many years to come.
Rather than offer a kind of watered-down, low-cost version of SEO that doesn’t really help, I want to give one Dorset-based business each year really meaningful support for six months at no cost.
What it doesn’t cover
This is a mentorship rather than a free managed SEO service, so you’ll need to be open to learning. You’ll have my expert guidance and support, but you’ll need to carry out a good deal of the implementation (you should therefore have access to your website’s content management system, and know how to use it).
It also doesn’t include:
Who can apply?
It would be lovely to help everyone, but the mentorship programme does need some criteria to help me identify the business where this support is likely to make the greatest difference.
Any small business primarily based in Dorset can apply, but when choosing between eligible applicants, I’ll consider things like the potential for SEO to make a meaningful difference to your business, your reasons for applying, and your willingness to commit time and effort to the process.
I’ll also take into account whether:
You won’t be asked to provide financial records or prove financial hardship. This isn’t a means-tested scheme. I’m simply asking applicants to be honest about their current circumstances and whether this level of SEO support would ordinarily be within their reach.
You might be a sole trader or limited company, with or without employees, service-based, in retail or trade – you might even be a not-for-profit organisation looking to reach a wider audience…I’ll consider every application on its merits.
